Smith first made a name for himself in the late 1960s as a sideman w/ saxophonist Lou Donaldson on albums incl. Alligator Bogaloo & soon after as a leader w/ his own soul-jazz classics incl. Think! & Turning Point.Smith & his Evolution band will perform at NYC Winter Jazzfest in Jan.
